I became a Celebrant in 1998 at our daughter’s request. They had everything organised- down to Mum being the Celebrant! So I applied to the Department of Internal Affairs and was successful in becoming a registered Celebrant.
The wedding was in the Pavilion at Cecil Peak, with huge fires roaring inside, and an electrical storm raging outside! It’s not often a mother has her daughter as a ‘captive audience’ and we all enjoyed the moment. Seventy wedding guests had bounced across the lake in wind and rain, in the hands of an excellent Captain, and by the time we arrived back in Queenstown Bay the storm had subsided and we drew breath and had a great evening.
I perform a range of ceremonies - Weddings, Funerals, Baby Naming, House Blessings – and they are all special, to me and to the people I help.
Over the years I have conducted many ceremonies throughout Otago and Southland, in many beautiful locations from gardens, to mountains, to lakes, to little churches and all those special places chosen by couples for their special day.
As an Accredited Celebrant and member of Celebrants Association NZ, I always work to the Professional Standards, Codes of Practice and Ethics.
It is a privilege to help couples create a memorable day, providing Ideas and information that will reflect their personalities and requirements.
